To join different scopes of the international wine world we accepted the invitation to take part to the blind tasting run by the best sommelier of the world (2007) Andreas Larsson, who chose three Gambino wines – feud’o bianco, tifeo rosso and tifeo bianco – to exhalt Sicilian wines. Gambino Winery, in fact, has been protagonist of the interpretation of the Sicilian and Etna terroir for decades now, being awarded, shared and appreciated by winelovers worldwide.
The best sommelier of the world (year 2007) Andreas Larsson tasted three Gambino wines. Here, what he said about them:
- Feu d’O 2017 : Bright light golden colour. Pure and exotic nose offering rpe yellow fruit, pineapple, apricot and floral hints without any oak influence. Nice palate with a juicy freshness, layers of ripe stone fruit, with confit du citron and fresh almond notes. Long and vigorous finish, nice purity and freshness. 90/100

- Tifeo 2017 White: Bright light golden colour. Pure nose, rather discreet fruit but layered with stony notes, fresh citrus, lemongrass and nutty notes. The palate is pure, fresh and bright with a good dose of freshness, almost slightly salty with a clear stoniness, pale stone fruit, citrus and a long lingering finish, very digest chablis-like style. 90/100

- Tifeo 2016 Red: medium deep ruby red with an orange rim. Youthful primary fruit aromas, crushed berries with a mild spiciness. A rounded yet fresh palate with succulent red fruit, pepper and clove notes, ligth to medium weight with a juicy lingering finish. 88/100
